What is the KonMari Method and why should I use it?
The KonMari Method of organizing was created by Marie Kondo and became popular after her first book "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" was released. This method is unique in that the focus is on choosing what items in your home "spark joy" for you and in gratefully letting go of the items that do not. The KonMari method also organizes by category instead of room, the recommended order being clothing, books, papers, komono (miscellaneous) and finally sentimental items. This method creates an awareness of your space as a whole and keeps you from shuffling things around from room to room. I used this method to organize my own home. In September 2019 I attended Marie Kondo's training seminar in California and completed my certification in April 2020. I have since found it successful with many of my clients who are needing to declutter their homes or offices. As it requires the presence of the client to choose what to keep, it hones the ability to listen to your intuition and can lead to other life-changing choices!
